Abu-Dhabi football club Al Jazira gave fans the chance to win the biggest prize in UAE league history this week, with a AED 1,000,000 prize contest! WorldWide Special Risks provided prize insurance to pay for the prize, if any of the lucky contestants could hit the cross bar from inside the halfway line.
The contestants were selected from the stadium on the day and via a radio and newspaper competition in the build up to the game. In front of 29,000 fans at Bin Zayed Stadium and screened live on television the 5 contestants gave it a good crack, with the final contestant landing just short of the cross bar.
The competition was used to build awareness for the club and increase attendance at the game and was a great success.
