Public and Employers Liability Insurance

Public Liability Insurance protects you against compensation claims made by members of the public.  Public Liability insurance can be taken out by an event organiser or an exhibitor, stallholder, supplier or service company attending an event.  It covers accidental bodily injury and damage to the venue.

Public Liability insurance is often a contractual requirement when you are hiring a venue, or attending someone elses event.  WorldWide Special Risks can provide one-off cover or an Annual Public Liability policy for multiple events.

Cover is available up to £20m and the level of cover will often be set in the contract with your venue.

Employers Liability Insurance protects you against any compensation claims made by employees, helpers or volunteers who you have brought in to aid in the running of your event or exhibition stand. It will cover accidental bodily injury and the claimant’s (employee, helper or volunteer) legal costs and expenses. A claim from an employee can arise from similar circumstances that a Public Liability claim can come from; it will most likely be accidental bodily injury as a result of an unforeseen incident at your event.

In the UK Employers Liability cover is usually £10m.  Cover can be taken out for one-off events or as an annual policy to cover multiple events.
